How to spend a perfect day within walking distance of Capilano River RV Park

If you’re staying at Capilano RV Park, chances are you’ve done enough driving for a while. No need to get back in the car to enjoy your stay with us on Vancouver’s beautiful North Shore! There are plenty of things to do within walking distance of our awesome accommodation sites. Check out our suggestion for just one of many ways to spend a day on foot around our Capilano River RV Park!

Morning: Coffee on Marine Drive

In the morning, limber up and take a stroll down to the picturesque food and retail district on Marine Drive in Hollyburn. You can walk all the way along Marine Drive and past Park Royal in about thirty minutes, or take a more leisurely stroll through Ambleside Park and enjoy the greenery. On Marine Drive between 13th and 19th street, you’ll find plenty of great independent coffee shops and restaurants where you can grab a latte and baked goods or fuel up on a full breakfast. For a coffee and a treat, we suggest Temper Chocolate & Pastry, and for a filling yet healthy breakfast to remember, check out Heirloom Ambleside.

Afternoon: Shopping and Lunch at Park Royal

After a relaxing morning of sipping coffee and catching up on the news (or your Instagram feed), walk back East towards the sprawling Park Royal shopping centre for a bit of shopping. Unlike most shopping malls, which can be simultaneously boring and hectic, Park Royal is beautifully laid out across multiple blocks, with stores spanning outdoor walkways that offer plenty of cafes and seating where you can take a break. When you feel peckish, there are over 40 dining options at the shopping centre for you to choose from!

Evening: A sunset walk over the Lions Gate Bridge

Hop on back to Capilano River RV Park once your shopping is done to drop off your newly found treasures and rest those feet before finishing off your awesome day! On a clear day when the sun is about to go down, there’s no better view than from the middle of the Lions’ Gate Bridge. It takes just 15 minutes to walk to the centre of the bridge from Capilano River RV Park - consider packing a warm drink to sip on while you view the sunset from the bridge! And if you’re not quite ready to hit the hay after your evening walk, continue on to Prospect Point lookout in Stanley Park, about another 15 minute walk from the middle of the Lions’ Gate Bridge.
